Devotional 45: God is our Banner – Jehovahnissi:

Our experiences with God help us to know Him better, and then we can respond in appropriate worship.  For example, Moses and the children of Israel experienced divine deliverance in battle against their foes as Moses’ hands were raised to … Continue reading

In what areas of my Christian life can God’s grace help?

1.  Grace is needed for victory over every sin – Romans 6:13-14,  Do not present your members to sin as instruments for unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and your … Continue reading

Have you ever wondered how you might access God’s grace more often?

1.  Admit that you need help – Be Humble not prideful – Be Dependent on God not independent! James 4:6-10,    But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”  Submit yourselves … Continue reading

How can I believe in Jesus and be reconciled to God?

Sermon Title:  Our New Personal Faith Sermon Text: Romans 10:6-21

Have you ever considered some of the Scriptural exhortations concerning God’s grace?

Acts 13:43, “[Paul and Barnabas] urged them to continue in the grace of God.

2 Timothy 2:1, “You then, my child, be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus.”

1 Peter 4:10, “As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace:

2 Peter 3:18, “But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Will you take them seriously?

With prayer, Pastor Mark

Are you depending on God’s grace or yourself to serve God? Can you tell the difference? Paul could!

Paul attributes his powerful ministry to the grace of God. God’s grace enabled him to minister beyond his own ability:

Romans 15:15, “But on some points I have written to you very boldly by way of reminder, because of the grace given me by God.”

I Corinthians 3:10, “According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master builder I laid a foundation”

I Corinthians 15:10, “But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me was not in vain. On the contrary, I worked harder than any of them, though it was not I, but the grace of God that is with me.

2 Corinthians 1:12, “For our boast is this, the testimony of our conscience, that we behaved in the world with simplicity and godly sincerity, not by earthly wisdom but by the grace of God, and supremely so toward you.

Ephesians 3:7-8, “Of this gospel I was made a minister according to the gift of God’s grace, which was given me by the working of his power. To me, though I am the very least of all the saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ.’

I wonder how much more we could do for the Lord if we depended on God’s grace and died to our own self-effort to do better in our own strength?
