Also, during the announcements I read from Deuteronomy 6:7-9 and tried to encourage families to be talking about the Lord together and reading together.   I suggested the following resources from Children Desiring God:

God’s Promises

God's Promises by Sally Michael

God’s promises are precious and powerful gifts from an unchanging, wise, loving, sovereign Creator and Ruler of the Universe. God has given His children these precious promises to remind us of His goodness and to strengthen our faith when we are weak. God’s Promises is a read-to and read-along book for parents with early elementary-age children. Each chapter ends with personal application and activities, and includes full-color illustrations. God’s Names

God's Names by Sally Michael

The Bible gives us many names for God and tells us what they mean. God’s Names was written to help parents introduce their children to
the character of God as revealed by His names. It is meant to serve as a springboard to help children trust God in everyday life experiences. Each chapter of this read-to and read-along book for early elementary-age children ends with personal application and activities, and includes full-color illustrations. (120 pages)
